2003 winds up today

The closing ceremony of the three-day
National Policy Review Forum 2003
organised by the Centre for Policy
Dialogue (CPD), The Daily Star
and the Prothom Alo will be held
at a city hotel today.
Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives
Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan will be chief
guest while General Secretary
of Awami League Md Abdul Jalil
will attend the closing ceremony
as special guest at the Hotel
Sheraton at 4pm.
Professor Rehman Sobhan, chairman
of the CPD and convenor of the
Policy Review Task Forces, will
chair the ceremony.
The working sessions of the
forum will also commence simultaneously
at three venues-- CIRDAP Auditorium,
National Press Club and Academy
for Planning and Development
Auditorium.
At CIRDAP, the issues of transport
and infrastructure and urban
governance will be discussed
while at the Academy for Planning
and Development, rural economy,
agriculture and non-farm activities
and poverty eradication and
employment generation will be
tackled.
At the National Press Club,
education, health and population
policies will be discussed.
