The Centre for
Policy Dialogue (CPD) today
unveiled its new-look internet
site,
www.cpd-bangladesh.org. The
revised website is designed to
be informative, comprehensive
and user friendly, and contains
information about the
organisation of CPD, a schedule
of upcoming events, summaries of
recently held events and details
of ongoing research activities.
The website will expand CPD’s
outreach and accessibility to
both local and international
audiences, enabling greater
information exchange and
awareness of important economic
issues.
Speaking at the
launch, CPD’s Executive
Director, Dr. Debapriya
Bhattacharya, explained that ‘an
effective website is an
essential tool in communication
and dissemination of information
in today’s world. CPD’s new
website provides a wealth of
accessible information for
students, professionals and
representatives from government
and civil society organizations
and reflects the high
professional standards that CPD
strives to maintain.’
A new feature of
the website is the online
accessibility of CPD’s research
and dialogue papers. Through an
agreement with Bangladesh Online
Research Network (www.bdresearch.org),
patrons may now access a range
of CPD publications at the click
of a button. To download CPD
papers, clients simply have to
create a free user name and
password with BD research and
select the paper they wish to
access. While many papers are
free of charge, some will
require patrons to purchase a
pre-paid card, either by mail
order or from the offices of CPD
or D.Net.
